Latter-day Lent

[Latter-day Lent] Repent, and Live: First Week, Thursday

You are worth it!

When you start sacrificing, you start making yourself more like Christ.

You are worth the effort.

The world will tell you that you should give up and just be complacent with your life.

Christ will tell you that you should continue to strive to be like Him, for that is what He asks you to do.

We are reminded that "Be ye therefore perfect" means "be ye therefore complete."

Christ is present in your life and He Knows you personally.

“Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;

“For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him”

Everyone is invited to come to Him and repent .

Scriptures/Readings

D&C 18:10-11

3 Nephi 12:48

Words of the Prophets

“Do not abandon the ship when the waves are a little high. That is when you tie yourself in and get the life jacket on, and you hold on to an oar, and you do not move.

“I am grateful that for my sake and yours and everybody we know and our children and our children’s children, that He was able to see that through.

“We believe that we are gods in embryo. … But how does that happen? What are the mechanics of that?

“If you say: ‘I want to be long-suffering. It is just that I do not want to suffer, and I do not want it to be for very long. But I am really for long-suffering.’ Well, that just is not the way it works. We get these opportunities to grow inch by inch, experience by experience.”
